Who are the mentors on ConnectEdu?

Verified university students, recent graduates, and professionals who create profiles listing the subjects they support, their university and credentials, up to six help areas (personal statements, interviews, course choices, campus life, projects and portfolio, internships), and an optional Calendly scheduling link.

Is ConnectEdu safe for students under 18?

Yes. All mentors are verified before they appear in the directory. Messaging happens inside ConnectEdu so no personal contact details are shared. Authentication and data storage use Supabase with row-level security, and in-app messages auto-delete after 14 days for privacy.

What are UN SDGs on a ConnectEdu profile?

All seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students tag each project or activity with the goals it advances, so admissions officers and employers see your impact in standardised language.

How do mentors apply to ConnectEdu?

Mentors are added manually before they can sign in. Email heena@connectedu.world from your preferred account with your full name, institution or affiliation, subjects you can mentor, and a short bio. You'll receive a reply once you're approved, usually within a day, and can then sign in at connectedu.world/login.

3. Connect with a mentor and follow a subject guide

Open the in-app subject guide for reading lists, competitions, project roadmaps, and career notes. Then connect with a verified mentor through the mentor directory for personalised advice on personal statements, interviews, course choices, projects and portfolio, campus life, or internships.

Every mentor on ConnectEdu is verified before they appear in the directory. A mentor profile lists the subjects they support, their university and credentials, up to six specific help areas (personal statements, interviews, course choices, campus life, projects and portfolio, internships), and an optional Calendly link for booking sessions. Students message mentors directly inside ConnectEdu — no contact details are exchanged, so the platform stays safe for learners under 18.

UN Sustainable Development Goals and YCAP impact tags

ConnectEdu profiles let students tag every project or activity with the UN SDGs it advances (all seventeen goals) and with the YCAP impact framework — eight categories covering Climate Action, Community Engagement, Policy Advocacy, Education and Outreach, Innovation and Technology, Conservation, Social Justice, and Sustainable Living. This gives admissions officers and employers a standardised view of a student's real-world impact.
